Health And Safety Working In Spray Coating Line
Posted on 24th July 2020 by Attractivechina
Working in a spray coating line can be extremely hazardous and it is vital to take precautions for yourself and your employees. When you are putting together the health and safety policies for your plant there are a few main areas of risk that need consideration. Such as explosion and fire, electricity , exposure and how to use the equipment when spraying operation.
In the case of operation of spray coating line , firing combustible powders through the air can be dangerous if not handled correctly. Dust explosions can be triggered if the concentration of powder in the air is too high ,or if the dust cloud comes into contact with any hot surface that could act as a source of ignition.
If the grounding system is overloaded or develops a fault it can lead to a build-up of electrostatic electricity which can spark or shock anything that comes close to it. This could also be a source of electrical fires, so it is important to carry out rigorous checks on all groundings on a regular basis in our spraying coating plant.
Powder coating can be an irritant if it is inhaled , or allowed to come into contact with eyes and skin. It is essential that all members of staff are fully trained on the correct usage of powder coating when working in the spray coating line, and are provided with suitable protective clothing, masks and goggles in each powder coating plant.
All of the equipment involved in the spray coating line,, from the dedicated safety apparatus to the coating machinery itself, must be in good working order at all times. Full assessments should be carried out on a regular basis, as well as visual checks before each and every use. If any signs of wear are detected then repairs or replacements must be implemented without delay.
